A Blessed day today! It was a day I enjoyed spending with Grandpa. I cherish each moment. God KNOWS MY HEART AND MY THOUGHTS.
Search me, O God, and KNOW MY HEART: try me, and KNOW MY THOUGHTS: And see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24
Father, free me of the anxieties I have today and show me anything that disappoints you so that I can follow Your will. Amen.

No Weeping
Wednesday, July 28, 2010
Went with my friend Kathryn to visit two other friends who are home bound and nursing home bound. First we went to see Christine at the nursing home and found out last night she fell and gashed her head open. She has 24 hour bed rest and a couple of stitches. Our next stop was to see Marie at her home and she is pretty much bed ridden. These ladies are both in their nineties, have good eye sight, good hearing, a sharp mind but are unable to do anything for themselves. No WEEPING for them only thankfulness for what they do have and can use.
WEEPING may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Psalm 30:51
I'm signing off right now because it is thundering and very dark out so you all have a good evening.

Well loved and fed
Tuesday, July 27, 2010
Another very interesting and wonderful day that was filled with JOY. This afternoon our friend Beth stopped in to give Grandpa a birthday card and peach muffins, chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies she had baked this morning. This woman is amazing. We were having a nice visit when Grandpa got a call to drive our neighbor to Middlefield and then to Garrettsville. Beth and I continued to share our family stories and found out how much alike we are. I just love this gal. She brought her most beautiful quilt top to show us and even Grandpa loved the pattern and fabrics she used. We told her to bring it over when she is ready to baste it together and we would help her. This would be more like a party having fun and games.
After Beth left neighbor Dan stopped in to return a card table and shared his news of the day.
After Dan left our two Amish girls stopped and brought two miniature cheese cakes for us.
After the two girls left their younger sister came and brought Grandpa a birthday card she made.
We feel well loved and well fed.
Barbara is being released tomorrow from the hospital. Praise the LORD
The JOY of the LORD is your strength.

Grandpa's Birthday
Sunday, July 25, 2010
John gets the prize. There are not two Sundays in a week. Good eye John.
Today Grandpa had a wonderful birthday celebration. It was great to have John and Deb, Tim,Kathy,Kasey,Jared and Tori over this afternoon. Steve called and wished him a Happy Birthday. I have to say Steve calls almost every Sunday which we really look forward to. Grandpa had JOY in his HEART with the love of family. Thank you for making his Birthday special.
Keep Barbara (Tracy's Mom) in your prayers. Tomorrow morning is her surgery.
Create in me a clean HEART, O God; and renew a right spirit within me...Restore unto me the JOY of thy salvation.

WINNER
Sunday, July 24, 2010
This morning our friend, Jackie, (Bob Maynard's daughter) came to visit and brought donuts along with a birthday card for Grandpa with some lottery tickets. Grandpa had a few winners but he didn't need a lottery ticket to be a winner. It is well KNOWN he is a winner without a lottery ticket.
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
You have made KNOWN to me the path of life; you will fill me with JOY in your presence.

Blessed
Friday, July 23, 2010
Well today is the last day I will be GIVING you the TREASURES OF WISDOM ON TALKING WITH GOD. There were 199 of them which was a little over 6 months. Tomorrow we will be starting something new.
Our dear friend Beth, who will be celebrating a birthday tomorrow, came today with a small basket of peaches and two tomatoes from her plant. She always has something to GIVE when she comes. Grandpa and I are surrounded by good friends and neighbors who check in on us to make sure we are alright. We are blessed!
TREASURES OF WISDOM
ON TALKING WITH GOD
May my heart really feel that there is
no honor or joy on earth at all equal
to the unspeakable privilege of waiting
upon God and interceding for
the blessing He delights to GIVE!
Ascribe to the Lord
the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in
the splendor of his holiness.

Neighbor Millie
Wednesday, July 21, 2010
Grandpa got me up this morning around 6:30 saying there was an ambulance at Millie's (our neighbor) house. I talked with her husband this morning and he said Millie keeps falling and was bruised in many places. When EMT came they said she had a fever of 102 so they transported her to the hospital. Her husband said the last time she was in the hospital she had an infection and thought maybe it had reoccurred.
Erica, So glad you had fun running the race with your Aunt Linda. Sometimes opportunities knock on your door and it's great you can take advantage of them. Good for you!

DREAM/SONG
Tuesday, July 20, 2010
A very interesting evening. I talked with Erica on the phone and shared with her about a song my Mother use to sing to me before I went to bed. I knew it was a sad song that had me cry but I just loved hearing the words to it. The only lyric I remembered was "I wish I had wings like an angel I would fly over these prison walls". Erica found my song in a matter of minutes on the internet. I use to dream all the time I was flying and could always get away from any evil that was chasing me. Now I know why I had those dreams if that was the song she sang to me almost every night. There are two artist that sang this song and the one by Hank Snow is a little better to understand. The link if you care to listen to it is: http://www.facebook.com/l/d99c1;www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0tg5u9y2Ps
Oh yes! The Title of the song is "The prisoner song"

Blackberries
Monday, July 19, 2010
Yesterday My 90 year old friend, Kathryn, went out and picked me a good couple quarts of blackberries and brought them to church. She LABORED in the heat of the evening and fought off the mosquitoes. I have had blackberries for snacks, breakfast and more snacks till I have a tummy ache. I love them dearly but the seeds are miserable when they get between my teeth and around my crowns. I feel like I should eat them because my friend showed me the scratches she received from the briers and how the blood trickled down her arm. Well I still have about a quart and a half to go before there gone.

Belated Birthday Party
Sunday, July 18, 2010
Today we received a phone call from Tori inviting us for dinner and dessert at their house to celebrate a belated happy birthday for Kathy. Tim and Tori prepared Manicotti which was absolutely delicious. Along with that there was corn, Cole slaw and garlic bread. For dessert we had cake and ice cream. I think Kathy was very pleased how everything turned out. Along with us was Mom and Dad Grubbs and other friends and neighbors that were invited for dinner and dessert. Grubbs family you did an amazing job of hosting a party. Grandpa and I along with Mom and Dad Grubbs left before the games got started.

Happy Birthday Kathy
Friday, July 16, 2010
Happy Birthday Kathy! I bet you will be HEARING a lot of Happy Birthday wishes today and this is one of them.
Grandpa and I are going to the Akron Aero's game tonight. Tori will be singing the National Anthem and we never get tired of HEARING her sing.
TREASURES OF WISDOM
ON TALKING WITH GOD
Let me bow in stillness before
God and wait on Him to reveal
Himself as the prayer-HEARING God.
When he asks, he must
believe and not doubt,
because he who doubts
is like a wave of the sea,
blown and tossed by the wind.
That man should not think
he will receive anything
from the Lord.

Fran's Birthday
We were a little late celebrating our friend, Fran's, birthday. Her birthday was June 22 and this was the first opportunity for a get together. Fran is in the middle, Becky on the left as you look at the photo and myself on the right. Today was a hot day up in the 90s so we went to the Pufferbelly restaurant in Kent. Had a wonderful lunch and just hung around in there where it was cool and had a nice visit. Our friend Dora was there also but she so kindly took the picture for us. We didn't shop or visit other facilities and that was just fine for all of us. Our next birthday girl is Becky in September.

A SURPRISE
Monday, July 12, 2010
First of all I would like to wish Uncle Sam and Aunt Sue a Happy 63rd Anniversary today. I talked with them today and I can say they have been hard WORKERS and continue to be even today. They are truly an amazing couple.
I had a wonderful surprise this evening. My friends Ruth Weaver and Beth Shale came unexpectedly for a short quick visit. You just can't imagine 3 women talking, laughing and close to tears in a matter of about 15 minutes. I just love these gals and wish everyone could have friends like them.
TREASURES OF WISDOM

ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE
Wednesday, July 7, 2010
Glad Aaron responded to Grandma's message. That made for a Happy Grandma!
Grandpa went to get his drivers license renewed today. He did good! He didn't have to wait in a long line, He passed his eye test without glasses and ASKED a question that had a surprising answer. His question was "Can you get your drivers license in a different county from which you live in. The answer was Yes! I believe you need to get your license plates in the county you live in. Also, you no longer need to bring your social security card with you.
Another rare opportunity this afternoon was to spend time in the sewing room. I am completely lost with whatever is going on around me. It's fun, fun, fun.

PERSEVERANCE
Monday, July 5, 2010
It was a good day today and I say thank God for AC. Our cleaning girl came today so I was able to have a fun day in the sewing room this morning. This afternoon I went to the pool and I think everyone might have thought it was closed because I was the only one in the pool so I was able to get my full hour of swimming in without interruption.
It's going to take PERSEVERANCE to get thru the rest of the week because they are calling for 90s all week. I have to say we are pretty spoiled with our AC but very thankful we don't have to get up and go to work especially Grandpa. He spent many a hot summer working in a hot car factory. Now that took PERSEVERANCE.
TREASURES OF WISDOM
ON TALKING WITH GOD.
In prayer I must expect difficulties which can be
conquered only by determined PERSEVERANCE.
You need to PERSEVERE so that

PRIVILEGE
Saturday, July 3, 2010
Check it out on Facebook. Tori had pictures taken of her at the Cleveland Indians game last night. She tagged Kathy so they also can be seen on Kathy's FB.
This morning we had a breakfast at the church and a young woman who attended the church when she was just a little girl came to speak about how she became a missionary in China. Unfortunately there were just a few people who came. We are thinking maybe because of the holiday weekend many had plans. For me it was a PRIVILEGE to help with the food and clean up duty.

The attached picture is Rance with my good friend Karen,(Rance's Grandmother).
The last journal entry was Thursday, July 1st, at 9:27 P.M.
"Rance is home now. He is running, talking, walking with Jesus.
As parents, we PRAYed for a different answer, but we know his suffering is over.
This afternoon we had a wonderful surprise visit from our very good friend, Beth,
who lives around the corner on 305. Beth brought the most delicious homemade
raspberry sherbet I have ever eaten. It was like perfect. She also brought one of
her garden tomatoes. I wished I had taken a picture of her while she was here.

lead me to the rock

RANCE
Thursday, July 1, 2010
Tonight I am asking for God's GRACE and mercy for coveting the life of a little boy who is to be 5 years old on Saturday. His name is Rance and he is the grandchild of a very good friend of mine.
